Poland publishes new rates for fines on 16 Sep 2022

The standard interest rate is 16.5% per annum.

The reduced interest rate is 8.25% per annum. The reduced interest rate applies if the taxpayer files an amended tax return before receiving a notice from the tax authority and the VAT payment on the additional tax liability is paid within 7 days of filing.

The reduced interest rate is 24.75% per annum. The increased rate of interest applies to VAT and customs duty in the event of non-compliance due to failure to file and pay the VAT return, which has been detected during the tax inspection. The increased interest rate is also applied where the taxpayer is aware of the tax obligations and yet fails to comply with them.
