Poland has ended the 0% VAT rate for food

With effect from April 1, 2024, the temporary zero VAT rate on food is canceled in Poland.

The zero VAT rate was introduced on 1 February 2020 as a temporary measure against rising inflation and applied to staple foods such as fruit, vegetables, meat, dairy or cereal products. Originally, this measure was introduced only until the end of 2022, but was extended several times.

The new VAT rate for food in Poland is 5% from 1 April 2024.
